A Chinese made banjo 1940's - with thick alumimium hoop, tension ring and shoes, with 16 chrome hooks. The fingerboard is mahogany and has 12 brass frets that rise high making it, I presume, to be played with a slide. The armrest is silver, shaped like a butterfly with piercings and the tailpiece cover is silver plated. The makers name and address (in Canton) is on a brass plate at the back of the peg head - it is all original apart from the bridge and it has the manufacturers hard shell case.
